Westwood Land Trust Continues Preservation of Former Lee Estate Area

We all enjoy the views along Westwood’s “scenic gateways”. Westwood Land Trust is happy to announce that more property along Summer Street has been protected to preserve some of this scenic view. In 2017, WLT purchased almost three acres (two buildable lots) directly opposite the eight acres preserved in 2016 at the corner of Summer Street and Grove Street. A conservation restriction was placed on the property in 2018 to permanently protect this wooded acreage forever.

WLT’s Board of Directors is grateful to the 200+ donors who helped make this purchase possible. In particular, the Board extends special thanks to Suzanne and Timothy Connors who agreed to a bargain sale with WLT. Without their generosity, this transaction would not have occurred.
