2016 Cleanup of Westwood Land Trust Properties

Join Westwood Land Trust for our 2016 Earth Day "Help & Hike"

As part of the annual Westwood Town Cleanup, the Westwood Land Trust (WLT) will be collecting litter on one of the preserved properties protected by the Land Trust. Volunteers are requested to help with the effort on the afternoon of Sunday, May 1st. The cleanup effort will run from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at 795 Clapboardtree Street – originally part of the former Polaroid Complex off of Route 1A. After the cleanup volunteers are welcome to hike throughout the property. What a perfect way to enjoy a spring afternoon and contribute to the Earth Week celebration!

We will supply trash bags. We suggest wearing long pants, socks that cover your ankles, and gloves (we will have disposable gloves if you need them) to minimize the possibility of exposure to poison ivy.

For access to this land, take Rte 1A south from Clapboardtree Street and take the second right at One Upland Road into the Upland Woods Industrial Park. Continue straight on the service road, passing the Universal Technical Institute (UTI) on your left. At the end, park along the sides of the service road; the preserved property will be in front of you.

So mark your calendar for the cleanup on Sunday, May 1st. All ages are welcome. Any questions, call Nancy Looney at 781-461-0199, or email nancylooney@gmail.com. Learn more about Westwood’s Town Cleanup at www.keepourtownclean.com.
